One of my favourite parts of Flesh Rituals & Siren Songs, and of the Soft Machine gigs of the past is the collaboration between flesh artists and musicians.
I’ve always loved the chaos of the Carnival sideshow, and the wild gigs of the 90’s Industrial era; Jim Rose Sideshow and Ministry’s “In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up” are two massive inspirations on the vibe that I wanted to create at the shows. That energetic, “who knows what the fuck is going to happen” sense of danger. And the Venn diagram of Industrial Music and BDSM is basically a dot.
I believe that art is magical, and my intentions with the Soft Machine gigs have been to create magical spaces where the creative and the erotic can exist, building layers of connections and creating w/holes greater than the sum of parts.
To have a show that features not just an alternation between erotic performance art and live music, but which ties them intrinsically together makes me deeply excited. Music and sex have always been enmeshed in my mind, and I’m the kind of person who pores over a playlist for an intimate encounter, ritual session or play scene.
Below are the collaborations that have gestated for the upcoming shows, and I’m delighted to invite you to witness what may be born from such unholy unions…
FLESH RITUALS & SIREN SONGS Sydney | 6 Dec | ENRYKA & Infernal Desire Machine
Enryka and Infernal Desire Machine will be opening the circle at Sydney’s FRSS… A ritual which had to be postponed due to illness, the energies of these witches have always felt in congruence. Never shying away from the depths and rawness of human experience and emotions, and fucking with mythic, anarchic and deeply political narratives, we’re deeply excited about what this collaboration will bring.
This ritual will take place VERY SOON after the doors open at 7pm, so get there early to join in the circle…

Mistress Tokyo and Sai have a long history in their sex industry careers and friendship, and we’re anticipating this collaboration with excitement. Both players and explorers of the edges who journey deep in the BDSM and creative worlds, with rich veins of creativity and archetypal inhabitations, ZCluster and Tokyo together will be closing the circle of the Sydney FRSS show.

The first foray of synthwave crew The Safety Word and Shibari brat Harli Adalia together… Harli has been known for their dynamic performances and love of dark underground music, and this collaboration with electro artists The Safety Word in their darkest set yet will be one to witness.
These firebrands will be opening the circle for the Melbourne FRSS very soon after the doors open, so get there early to bear Witness.

Genderfucked rope dancers unite… sensual sadist Himboy takes up the reins of binding Sai Lillith in their ropes through a ZCluster set, and we’re waiting with bated breath to see what wild magics will come through this sizzling encounter of two of Melbourne’s rope switches.
